Meet the Dogs

Bella and Chica

Bella

In the past, I only had large dogs. I wanted a small dog to take RVing with me and to be a house dog. We found Bella on Craigslist in 2011. The seller only wanted $25 for Bella and was her third owner. The seller couldn't potty train her and that is why they were giving her up they said.

Bella the day I got her.
We aren't sure what breed Bella is. A mix for sure. Groomers and vets guess a little Chihuahua, Yorkie (she doesn't shed), and Terrier. She was 5 lbs when I bought her in 2011

Bella meets my cat
My cat was about 12 lbs I think. Bella was so small compared to him.

This is Bella when I let her fur grow out
Bella was shaved when I got her. I was curious what she would look like if I let her fur/hair grew while it was winter. She looks like a different dog before and after hair cuts.

I bought this tiny kids camping chair for Bella, and she liked it.

Bella after her haircut
Bella gained weight after I bought her. She went from 5 lbs to 10 lbs and was getting a little chubby. Since then, we both are constantly dieting and she is down to 8 lbs now.

Chica

My neighbor had a litter of Chihuahua puppies and asked if I wanted to see them. Yes, who can resist puppies? Well after seeing them, we picked this little girl out. The puppies were only 6 weeks old and not ready to leave mom and siblings, but he let us bring the puppy home to see if Bella and my other dog would accept her. Look at Bella in a play bow! Bella liked the idea of a little sister.

Chica was a tiny little thing
After getting photos of Chica and introducing her to my dogs, we took her back to her mom and sibblings.

  1. What a nice journal of your dogs. I feel like I know them. Keep up the journaling as yours is very interesting. I know it is a lot of work but later you will be happy you have recorded your trip.

  2. Thanks Marilyn's! I will finish blogging about this trip, but probably not till I get home in a couple weeks.
