Going to Oregon with my friend Judy

My friend Judy and I are taking a trip to Oregon in a few days. This will be her first trip in my "new to me" bigger RV. It will also be the longest trip she has taken with me. We plan to be gone around three weeks or less. We leave Sunday, July 26, 2015.

This is Judy and I in front of my old RV back in April 2007. It was the morning of our first trip together, all the way to Stockton, CA. There was an Escapee RV Rally I signed up for to learn about RVing. I was a new RVer and Judy and her husband use to full time in an RV. They sold their RV and bought a home, so she likes to go with me occasionally when she gets the "hitch itch". Judy was a great co-pilot for my maiden voyage!

I attended a handful of "How To" seminars at the Boot Camp

This is the campground we stayed at in Bakersfield on our way home. It was called Orange Grove Park and had lots of orange trees right where the RV's parked. I think we were in Stockton 4 or 5 days, plus camping one night on the way up and one night on the way back.

RVing With Two Small Stroller Dogs

I've been wanting to make a travel blog for a long time. I'm trying to learn enough to share my travels with friends and family. It will also make a nice journal for myself to refer back to for future trips.

I tried making a blog with Wordpress for my last big trip. I used my iPhone to take all the photos, and an iPad to posts to the blog. Plus I was having trouble trying to learn Wordpress. You can read about that trip on my other blog if interested. I'm using Blogger for this blog.

My goal is a permanent record of places I travel, complete with routes taken, places I camped or visited, along with photos. I also want to document ideas, tips and helpful info on RV travel with dogs.  So many restrictions about where dogs are allowed to go, I want to list places that are "dog friendly".

Of course having small dogs that fit in a dog stroller make taking dogs to places so much easier. I take them into visitor centers, stores, museums and places dogs usually don't go. With them in the dog stroller, many people don't even notice it's a couple of dogs instead of a baby I was pushing around. Both of my 8 lb dogs love riding in the stroller. When I go in a public building I just zip the stroller closed so people can't touch or easily see them. Many times, it's the owner of the store that wants to see and pet them, so I just unzip the stroller and they get lots of attention.

RV Sue and her dogs Bridget and Spike liked my dog stroller too, when I met her in Anza Borrego in 2012

I've got three dog strollers! The green one above was my first. The front wheel didn't roll correctly, so I bought the gray one below at Petsmart. It rolls really nice on hard surfaces. I got it right before my trip up 395 to Oregon in 2013.

Employee in Visitor Center in Bishop even "baby sat" Bella while I went across the street to a famous bakery

Bella got to go on the boat with me in Oregon

Now that I got Chica, she rides along with Bella too
Got this
stroller from Amazon in 2015.

I bought this black all terrain dog stroller with the large, air filled tires, so it would roll over rougher campground roads of gravel. The gray stroller with the small plastic wheels struggled in gravel. I'll still use them both. The gray one is lighter and easier to carry to the car or RV and is fine for going to stores or on walks with hard surfaces. The black stroller is a lot heavier and takes up more room in the car, but will be used when needed.
